Wine instead of beer at the Tap and Tandoor with L.E.N.

What a great night we had with the fabulous folk at the Local Expert Network meeting last night! Gail Orton, from Orton Media organises this monthly event for like minded business people from Solihull and the surrounding areas to get together and talk about their areas of expertise.

The event was moved from the traditional early morning slot to the evening, to accommodate our wine tasting - after all, wine tasting at 7.00am is unacceptable on most levels!

The group met upstairs at Tap and Tandoor in Solihull where we were looked after by Ajay and the team; we were served a selection of meats from the tandoor, masala fries and amritsari fish.

We chose the perfect wines to pair with our grilled spicy feast, starting with a Provence rosé as an aperitif, followed by an Austrian Gruner Veltliner and a German Dr Loosen Riesling, which being off dry was the perfect match for the spice. We finished with a Romanian Incanta Pinot Noir and and an Indian Soul Tree Cabernet Sauvignon, the favourites of the night:

Provence Rosé, Taste the Difference, France, Sainsburys £9.75

Gruner Veltliner, Domaine Huber, Austria, Waitrose £10.79

Slate Hill Dr Loosen Riesling, Germany, Majestic £11.99

Incanta Pinot Noir, Romania, Majestic £5.99

Soul Tree Cabernet Sauvignon, Nasik Valley, India, Connolly's £10.10
