Thank you so much to everyone that joined us for Top Gun with Cocktails on Saturday night!!
As promised, these are the classic 80's cocktail recipes we used, so you can recreate them at home:
Aviation - of course, a refreshing gin based arrival drink
40 ml of your favourite gin (we used Bombay Sapphire)
10 ml creme de violet
10ml creme de maraschino
25 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
25 ml sugar syrup
Shake vigorously over ice and serve in a martini glass, garnished with a cocktail or maraschino cherry
Harvey Wallbanger
50 ml vodka (we used Russian Standard)
12.5 ml Galliano vanilla liqueur
85 ml orange juice, not from concentrate
Stir the vodka and orange juice in a highball glass with ice and then float the Galliano on top. Garnish with orange slice and Maraschino cherry. Nice and easy.
Sea Breeze
50 ml vodka
75 ml cranberry juice
37.5 ml grapefruit juice
Another Summer banger and another easy one to make. Simply build over ice and garnish with lemon or lime.
Pina Colada
25 ml Koko Kanu (or Malibu)
25 ml white rum (we used Bacardi)
12.5 ml whole milk
12.5 ml double cream
50 ml pineapple juice, not from concentrate
5 ml cocoa real
Shaken vigorously over ice, poured into a wine glass or Poco Grande cocktail glass and garnished with a pineapple leaf. This also works well blended with ice.
